What is an RFQ?
An RFQ is a Request for Quote. Aircraft operators post RFQs on Wavepilot to invite FBOs to submit quotes for fuel and services.
Why are RFQs important to FBOs?

Wavepilot RFQs are powerful sales tools that FBOs can use to reach out directly to aircraft arriving at their airport and neighboring airports too.

TIP: RFQs open the door for you to communicate directly with aircraft operators planning trips to your airport and neighboring airports. Take advantage of this excellent marketing opportunity to promote your FBO and make the sale.
How are FBOs notified of new RFQs?

When an aircraft operator posts a new RFQ, Wavepilot automatically notifies every FBO at the destination airport(s) via email, fax, and/or text message.

How do FBOs submit free quotes?

Activate your FBOs registration on Wavepilot then login daily to check your RFQs and submit quotes.

TIP: You can send private messages to the aircraft operator when you submit your quote. Take advantage of this opportunity to showcase your FBO's special features and services.

TIP: Aircraft operators don't necessarily select FBOs based solely upon the lowest fuel price. Amenities and incidental charges can often offset fuel price differences. Advise the operator of any special benefits you can offer to earn their business.
How much does it cost to submit a quote?

It costs your FBO nothing to submit quotes and you can update your quotes anytime to remain competitive.

How do aircraft operators pay for fuel and services?

Aircraft operators pay your FBO directly by any agreed upon method. Wavepilot does not facilitate the payment or participate in the transaction.

TIP: When you submit your quote, consider offering the aircraft operator an incentive to use a charge card or payment method that reduces your merchant fees or pays you sooner.

Why doesn't an RFQ show the name of the aircraft operator?

Many flight departments and operators prefer to remain anonymous for privacy and security. The operator may choose to reveal their identity to you through Wavepilot’s private messaging and by accepting your quote.

TIP: FBOs can communicate directly with aircraft operators by sending private messages with their quotes. This is an excellent opportunity for your FBO to reach out to the operator about their specific needs and tell them you'll go the extra mile to earn their business.
Is Wavepilot a contract refueller?

No. Fuel contractors, consolidators, and aggregators are middlemen between your FBO and aircraft operators. That adds to the cost of fuel for everyone. Wavepilot lets you eliminate the middleman so you can deal directly with aircraft operators to reduce your cost of the sale and pass those savings along.
